10:34 pm - Montreal!!!!!
|
Mike and I had a great time in Montreal. I would love to live there. (stupid winter :<) The first night we walked up (one of) the main streets and tried some smoked meat (one of the local specialties). The second day we went saw the Olympic stadium, Botanical Gardens ( loved it! ), Notre-dame, and had a great Vietnamese lunch in Chinatown. By the afternoon it was pouring rain so we retreated to the underground city for some shopping. On Saturday we saw St. Joseph's, went to some outdoor markets and had a Chinese lunch with our new friends Sara and Patrick (Sara is the sister of my co-worker and friend Jen). We then continued walking the main streets filled with fun shops and tons of restaurants. We met Noemi (a very fun world traveler Mike met in Germany many years ago, and Montreal native) for dinner at an Italian restaurant. After dinner (and a lot of wine), We picked up Noemi's boyfriend Jasmin and headed to Mont-Royal to look at the amazing city lights. It was our favorite day, having met four new friendly people we can't wait to see again. This morning before heading home, we walked to Old Montreal and back to the B&B through Chinatown to grab some BBQ pork steamed buns and bubble tea!!!!!!
Montreal has a little Europe, a little NYC, and a bit of San Francisco all whipped together.

I saw one of those things a while ago, Where you write about 10 people on your friends list and they get to guess who they are... Well I only have 13 people on my friends list. So you're probly here somewhere... But where?
OK So I'm giving up the answers... 'cause the only three people who looked at it are probly the only ones who care...
1. I’m totally going to give this one away. I downloaded one of your voice journals and I listen too it whenever I need a good laugh. Aug. 29, 2005. I love your journal and your stories. SARCASTRO
2. A long time ago you did something for me when I was in pain. I’m not sure if you knew it at the time. It was not a spectacular or dramatic event, but it meant a lot to me. I will remember it and hold it close to my heart forever. Thank you. KIMBA
3. You ARE ‘Sexy’. You’re lost and vulnerable, but I look into your eyes and see the exotic simmering. Is that not damn sexy? I am jealous. Love ya Sexy. CAIT
4. We shared some special moments when I was breaking free form the confines of routine that had arrested my life. Adventure… Freedom … Fun. I miss you. DOUG
5. You may think I’m crazy, but I’d love to be you for a month. I would ROCK in your life, and then I would be completely exhausted. FNCK
6. Imagination galore… Fun galore. Wheeeeeee!!!!!!! JEFUS
7. You delight me more than anyone I know. Your charm is genius. You could charm the pants right off me, but you really wouldn’t be into that. I love to be in a room with you and witness you brilliance. I love you. LEILANI ;)
8. I love this friend. I would love to cuddle you up, put you in my closet and take care of you, but that wouldn’t be the best for you. And by the way, you are smarter and hotter than you think you are. I love you. TJ
9. I think I know you better than you know me. We are soooooo much alike. If you knew how much, you would poop. You are pride. I love you. CHRISTY
10. You are one of the most genuine people I know. You hide nothing and you have nothing to hide, a bright spirit in the world. Everyone will notice you. GRACE

You are The Lovers
Motive, power, and action, arising from Inspiration and Impulse.
The Lovers represents intuition and inspiration. Very often a choice needs to be made.
Originally, this card was called just LOVE. And that's actually more apt than "Lovers." Love follows in this sequence of growth and maturity. And, coming after the Emperor, who is about control, it is a radical change in perspective. LOVE is a force that makes you choose and decide for reasons you often can't understand; it makes you surrender control to a higher power. And that is what this card is all about. Finding something or someone who is so much a part of yourself, so perfectly attuned to you and you to them, that you cannot, dare not resist. This card indicates that the you have or will come across a person, career, challenge or thing that you will fall in love with. You will know instinctively that you must have this, even if it means diverging from your chosen path. No matter the difficulties, without it you will never be complete.
What Tarot Card are You? Take the Test to Find Out.
I TOOK IT A SECOND TIME AND CHANGED SOME ANSWERS... I'M STILL THE LOVERS!<3

Ok. so i made a friend this summer with a gray garden slug that lived outside my door. Every evening when I took the moch to pee, he/she would be crawln' along leaving a slimy trail.
PHOTO OF FRIENDLY SLUG...

Well today, on Mochi's Birthday, I have discovered at least 15 tiny baby slugs on my door step. They are hard to see, about the size of a pine needle. The last thing I want to do is kill my friends children. I have to walk very carefully...

Someone will be a year old tomorrow. Hint: He loves his toy snake.

P.S. Christy, I think you'd really like 'stranger than fiction'. For some reason I thought of you when the writer met her main character in real life.

7:13 pm - Hello World!
|
Hello all!!! It’s been way too long for an update. I’m actually going to try to update once a week. I said try. We’ll see how it goes. I’ve got lots of pictures to share. I figure weekly updates will give you all something to look at without overkill. Mike is hard at work with Cornell and the job. His grades are great. If he gets below a b-, we have to pay tuition back to Lockheed. I don’t think we need to worry about that. He is a bit stressed and grumpy when he’s doing homework, but otherwise he is a happy camper. I’m still grooming at Four Paws. (That sounds so weird, I learned to groom and worked for 7 years at ‘Four Paws’ in Michigan.) I enjoy my co-workers and the doggie clients. I’m working a lot of exhausting hours. They roped me into them when I started. When we got the scheduling book for 2007, I cut down my hours. My employer is not that happy with that, actually tried to talk me into MORE hours, but I didn’t budge. They have a TON of clients, and they are all booking the entire year of 2007 so they don’t get bumped off the scheduling book. I already know I’m completely booked for December 19th and 20th of 2007!!!! I’m also grooming three dogs at home, once a month. I’ll do a journal entry on them at another time, with pictures! I’m really looking forward to cutting back my hours a bit. When I come home tired, we tend to eat bad food. And it’s hard to exercise when you come home hungry and sleepy. Also, I’ll be able to take better care of Mike. When I work a lot of hours it affects my mood and the household chores, thus affecting Mike. And he needs some taking care of with everything that’s on his plate. No snow yet in Syracuse. (Knock on wood) I work near some higher elevations, so once in a while a car will pull into the parking lot covered in snow. It’s bizarre. This last weekend we stood in line at Toys-R-Us to get a pre-order on the Nintendo Wii. (Mike is so excited) But when they opened the doors they said they were already sold out. Apparently some diehards spent the night outside the door, so they let them in early and they got them all. So instead we got the tickle me Elmo… yep, tickle me Elmo. We bought it for $40 and it’s selling for $80 on Ebay. I think I’ll wait a bit. See if it goes up more before Christmas. I didn’t stand outside Toys-R Us in the cold for nothing. Mike thinks it would be funny if we make enough profit to buy the Wii. ‘The Departed’ is an awesome movie. It’s my favorite this year, along with ’Snakes on a Plane’. We’re coming home on Thanksgiving. We’ll spend Thursday evening and a good part of Friday with Mama Gayle. Then off to Mama Maureen’s for Saturday Thanksgiving. We’ll head back early Sunday. Last trip back to Syracuse was dreadful. It took us 3 hours to cross from Canada into NY. That gave us an 11 hour trip. We’ll also be home for a week between Christmas and New Years. We’ll try to see everyone then. I’ll depart with some photos of Mike and his sisters taken in July, our last trip home to MI. And a pic of the pup (I loves me my Mochi pup). Love and miss you all!!!!!!!!!!! Annette ( a.k.a. “Cakes”, and I’m calling Mike “Husband”)

Yet Another cold grey day in Syracuse. POOOOOH!
Mike and I saw two movies this last weekend. Everything is Illuminated - Great movie, great cast, Beautiful fimling, Great comedy with the broken english(see pic below), yet a sad and tragic tale of a jewish comunity in the Ukraine.

Also, Silent Hill - Great effects, not too great acting. But we really didn't go see it for the acting. One of the best spooky movies I've seen. Was better once my niece explained the game's plot in detail to me.

This is a fun test to take, but the results are not very informative. I would really like to know the other titles. My niece is a 'Generous Inventor' If you click on 'Beneolent Creator' you can take the test yourself.

Yesturday we finally found the good dog park in liverpool. Next time we'll take the camera. Mochi wasn't afraid of the obstacle course at all. I'm teaching him commands with a vocal and a visual signal. When I taught him 'come', I held out a finger. He got his treat when his nose hit my finger. It was easy to get him to go through tubes, over jumps, and over bridges. He just followed my finger. We also saw the movie 'Thanks for Smoking' it was quite cute and funny. I liked it.
We also rented 'The Constant Gardener' bad name and bad advertising for this very profound film. Great movie. I think they may have tried to make it look like an action movie to get more people to see it. The DVD has a picture of the main character pionting a gun and this never happens in the movie. It's main point of the film is how The superpowers overlook the suffering of African peoples for thier own selfish needs, but I'm not sure if the plot follows any truth.

My honey loves me sooo much! I woke up this morning to an Easter egg hunt. He hid 12 plastic candy filled eggs and 3 plastic candy filled chicks. The little chicks are so cute. He put one outside on the patio looking in. There is also a chocolate bunny <3! yummm....
